Notice to Customers: Worldwide Vitamin Shortages

How the BASF Fire is affecting you and our products

Friday, January 26, 2018 - In October 2017, there was a fire at the manufacturing plant in Germany that produces the majority of the world’s supply of Vitamins A and E.

As a result of this, we have experienced some stunning price increases in the costs of some of our raw materials, most notably vitamins, where prices for some tripled in early 2017 - and then quadrupled again near the end of the year. Price increases continue, and there are ongoing issues with shortages and lack of availability of some vitamins.

We appreciate your patience as we work to manage the current situation around backorders and product availability. While we do anticipate changes in pricing and packaging for some of our products, we are working hard to minimize the impact of those changes on our customers.

As we all cooperate to work through this situation, it may be appropriate to limit-feed some of the products that you’ve been making available for free choice consumption.

If your horses and livestock are not already receiving the A.B.C.’s Plus or D.U.A. products, adding that to the ration is going to help with the utilization and assimilation of available nutrients in the ration (and in the supplements).

For folks who are already using A.B.C.’s Plus or D.U.A., please feel free to call or email the office and we can help you amend the use of those products as we work to bridge these changes in the market.

As always, please feel free to email or call if you have specific questions, concerns or special needs.

Thanks for your patience and your continued support of Advanced Biological Concepts®.
