Q.

Why do I need to feed ABC's Plus® if the horses are getting the Free Choice Vitamins and Minerals?  Won't I be duplicating vitamins and minerals?

A.  Feeding ABC’s Plus® at 4 ounces per day is essential for the digestive system to absorb and utilize the nutrients your horse is taking in. The ABC’s Plus® is not a source of vitamins and minerals; it allows them to be more available to your horse.

Q.
What is the difference between ABC’s Plus® and Pro Bi™?

A.  ABC’s Plus® is a pelleted supplement that is fed daily addressing digestion, hoof growth, coat and skin condition, and reducing colic occurrences.  Pro Bi™ is given on an “as needed” basis. These would include before, during and after travel and competition, de-worming, antibiotics, drug therapies, alterations of feed, water and/or environment. It is especially helpful for diarrhea and colic.

Q.
Why are my horses going through so much A Mix and BVC Mix?  Can they overdose?

A.  Horses tend to go through a lot of the Free Choice Vitamins and Minerals especially the A Mix and BVC Mix when our program is first introduced.  Other indications include: change in weather (heat wave or cold snap), feeding older feed stuffs (hay or grain), when grass/pasture is lush and high in nitrates, hay quality, inadequate sunlight, inclement weather, animal is under stress (internal or external), poor water quality, injuries, or parasites. Horses will only take as much as they need. If their bodies are not deficient, they will not touch the free choice vitamins and minerals.
