Herbicide resistant weeds linked to genetically modified canola

 

A recent survey found that up to 83 percent of wild canola growing along highways contained herbicide resistant genes.Canola can interbreed with 40 different weed species, and 25 percent of those weeds can be found in the United States.In the future it would be difficult to control common weeds that have crossed with transgenic canola.
